Alcassoft Builds ABU Online Registration System

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has commissioned Alcassoft to build a fully-customised online registration system for their 45th Annual General Assembly, to be held later this year. This is to provide the ABU’s delegates and participants – located all over the world – the convenience of registering for the event online.

As an added feature, participants are able to save the form, uncompleted, and login again at a later time to continue with the registration process. This can be done without losing any of the data previously entered. When ready to submit the fully completed form, they can do so at any time at the click of a button. The system will then do the usual validation checks, to ensure that all required fields are filled up, and in the proper formats. Participants will then receive an automated confirmation email, with a pdf version of the completed form for their reference.

The system also includes an administrative console for the ABU administrator. Some of the features available include: the ability to edit participants’ forms, a search and filtering feature, and an e-mailer, where the administrator is able to send customised email messages to groups of people in a batch. The administrator is also able to modify the form fields, thus making the form re-usable for their next General Assembly in 2009. Additionally, the database can be downloaded off to a spreadsheet, for further manipulation by the ABU admin.

ABU is one of Alcassoft’s oldest clients, having come on board first with their purchase of a SOPHIA cms license which allows them to manage multiple independent websites.
