Haulage Solution

HaulageMultimodal Freight Sdn Bhd (MMF), a wholly-owned subsidiary of KTM Berhad, and a major player in the Malaysian logistics industry, approached Alcassoft to help automate and streamline its haulage operations within Malaysia.

Working closely with the MMF IT team, Alcassoft developed a sophisticated industry application that allows for the end-to-end tracking of MMF’s haulier operations. This is primarily a desktop-based system, with a web extension for selected reports. It is currently utilized by over thirty users in six MMF branches across Malaysia.

Features include:

  • Management of drivers, prime movers, trailers and containers Essential for keeping on top of who (driver) and what (vehicle) are available for a job, where they are at each leg of their journey, and when they reach their destination. Be aware of vital information for prime movers and trailers, e.g. the expiry dates for insurance, road tax and PUSPAKOM permits, etc.
  • Management of customer (consignee) profiles, shipping agents and forwarding agents These are classified by (location) zones for easy referencing and administration. Relevant information attached to each include: contact information, charge rates, cash or credit terms, etc.
  • Configurable business rules Integral to the system is the customizable aspect of the processes involved, allowing the input of relevant business rules affecting trading terms, pricing, charges, etc.
  • Business reports Generate reports such as revenue by week, month or job type, number of jobs completed within a specified period, and so on. This is particularly important in getting rid of the guesswork – allowing Multimodal to make informed decisions on business planning and forecasts.
