Data Acquisition
This web-based application was developed for Interum Ltd, a Gibraltar-based company with dealings in the UK, France, South Africa, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Interum’s core function is the acquisition of data. This data is obtained in a variety of formats, from various sources, via different channels.
To illustrate, Interum Ltd acquires data for different projects, in various countries, in non-standard formats. All the data has to be managed via a central database, accessible by different users with different levels of access. Each user has a set of tasks to complete within this process. However, they may not be at the same geographical location (freelancers working from home, external partners, various branches in different countries, etc.).
The challenge was to integrate the various data, with the various users from different locations within one central system, to allow for the end-to-end tracking of the movement of these data within the system, to be aware of any loopholes, and to be alerted of any follow-ups necessary within this process of data acquisition.
Alcassoft met the challenge by creating a central web-based system to store and track these various movements of data, incorporating the management of multiple levels of users handling these data. Data is tracked from the moment it is flagged to be acquired, through all processes involved in its acquisition, including alerts for follow-ups and non-compliance.
The Alcassoft DATAQ system, in essence, tracks the end-to-end process of data acquisition in a complex environment of user and data access and collaboration.
